Did you know that over 80% of the population has some form of gum
disease. Gum disease is caused by bacteria which live in the plaque and
tartar on your teeth.  These bacteria produce harmful chemicals that
cause your gums to bleed and recede.

Avoid sugary foods and drinks. Acidic drinks like fresh juices and fizzy drinks
are also best avoided. There are many hidden sugars in foods so check before
you eat. Avoid brushing directly after having sugary food or drink. Wait about
an hour or chew sugar free gum so that acid levels in the mouth neutralize.

Avoid smoking as it predisposes you to , take
antibiotics if you can get them. Also hot water and salt mouth wash is helpful.

6) Toothache- The best pain killers to take are ibuprofen. If you are
allergic to this then take paracetamol.

7) Broken Tooth- If there is an open cavity you can place temporary filling
material available from the chemist.
